According to the complaint by K K V Annan Azhagia Singarachariar of Uthra Veedhi, his ancestral property, a vacant land measuring 6,430 sq ft (Survey no 1193), is on Melur Road in Srirangam. Adjacent to this is a temple — built on a poromboke land, the entrance of which faces the northern direction. However, Azhagesan, a relative of former forest minister N Selvaraj with an intention to grab the land, had laid a concrete road and had blocked the entry to the land, the complainant alleged. When the dispute arose, after negotiations by the tahsildar, a survey stone was laid. But, Azhagesan uprooted the stones. “When I asked him, he threatened me with dire consequences,” the petitioner alleged.
