Puttur: Girl taken to Kerala for conversion – advocate, five others arrested

Daijiworld Media Network  – Puttur

Puttur, Mar 3: Puttur notary, advocate and Dakshina Kannada district Congress minority unit chief secretary Nooruddin Salmar has been remanded in judicial custody for allegedly assisting in the conversion of a Hindu girl from Ankatadka, Paltady and helping his friends take her to Kerala.

Nooruddin was caught when he was trying to help Mohammed Althaf, the second accused in the case, to reportedly escape in his car. The Kasargod police arrested them near Perla. The prime accused in the case is Aziz, a poultry trader from Ankatadka.

The girl, a resident of Paltady, had left from her home on February 19 and escaped to Bellary. Aziz is said to have given the girl Rs 10,000 and asked her to convert to Islam. She was then taken to Kasargod by accused Rahiman, Mansoor and auto driver Manoj, and from there to Ponnani by train.

The girl then called Puttur rural police and informed them that she was in Ponnani. The girl’s father filed a complaint in Puttur rural police station on February 21. It is said that Aziz and the girl had an affair, and after the family’s intervention, it was decided that Aziz and the girl would not meet or talk to each other anymore.

Meanwhile, based on the information obtained on tracking the phone number the girl had called from, the Puttur rural police led by SI Jagadish Reddy under the direction of DySP Sadananda Warnekar left for Ponnani and brought the girl back. On the basis of her statement, the police filed complaints against Aziz, Rahiman, Mohammed Althaf, Mansoor and Manoj.

Though Nooruddin was only accused of helping the accused escape, investigations later revealed that he was the mastermind behind the plan to convert the girl, said DySP Sadananda.

Accused Aziz, Althaf and Nooruddin were taken for medical examination and produced in Puttur court. Puttur lawyers’ association filed a bail plea for Nooruddin’s release. B Narasimha Prasad and Mahesh Kaje argued on his behalf and said that Nooruddin should be granted interim bail as he was an advocate of the Puttur court.

Assistant public prosecutor C Thammana expressed a strong objection to the bail plea. He said interim bail can be granted to old people, patients and women but in this case interim bail cannot be granted to the accused.

Justice Venkatesh Nayak who upheld the decision of the public prosecutor, denied the bail and remanded the accused in judicial custody for 14 days. Along with Nooruddin, the court also awarded judicial custody to Azeez and Mohammed Althaf.

A few people objected to the photographers who were clicking pictures of the accused. Meanwhile police officials intervened and dispersed the crowd. Strong security was deployed in the court premises under the guidance of M Sudarshan, Puttur town police inspector and K Suresh Kumar, rural police circle inspector.

Dr. Pravin Togadia denied entry into Jammu

http://www.haindavakeralam.com/HKPage.aspx?PageID=16952&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Now even Govts think, Jammu Kashmir not Bharat?
Asks Dr Pravin Togadia after not being allowed to enter Jammu

New Delhi, February 21, 2013

For the officially announced public programmes & Darshan at Shri Bhagwan Raghunath ji temple, VHP International Working President Dr Pravin Togadia went to Jammu this morning. At Jammu airport itself he was stopped by the J&K state police & the Addl District Magistrate. He was handed over by them the ‘Prohibition for Entry’ order on his arrival at the airport where he was not allowed to get out of the airport for his programmes. The VHP officials & volunteers were waiting for him outside the airport, they had his medicine with them but even they were not allowed to meet him.  Making him sit there at the airport since his early morning arrival, surrounded by the gunmen, he was being sent back by the late afternoon flight.

Reacting to this, Dr Togadia said, “Indian Parliament has passed a resolution a long time back that Jammu Kashmir including the current POK are an integral part of Bharat. But as a citizen of Bharat, while I have full right to travel anywhere in Bharat, today prohibiting me from entering Jammu, the Union & State govts gave in to the hands of the separatists who keep on claiming that Jammu Kashmir not Bharat. This is a violation of my fundamental constitutional rights. The Govt stopped me from even going for the Darshan of Bhagwan Raghunathji. This is a violation of my religious rights as well. Airport comes under the Union Govt. Allowing the state police on the airport is a decision of the Union Govt. This means that both the Union & the state Govts have connived against a citizen of Bharat for stopping him from entering Jammu. This is obviously to help the supporters of Afzal Guru who was hanged as a convict for the parliament attack. They announced revenge & both these Govts helped them achieve it by sending a VHP Working President back from the airport. Their letter says (like a future predictor): ‘Your inflammatory & provocative speeches    WILL disturb LAND & order in the state & disturb the peace in the state.’ Stone pelting by the separatists: allowed; Yassin Malik, Sayeed Ali Shah Gilani allowed anywhere in Bharat; even Rehman Malik of Pakistan to Ajmer allowed when he says 26/11 Mumbai attack was done by Bharat; but Togadia not allowed in Jammu! This is sheer discrimination on the basis of religion & it is anti-constitutional & anti-Hindu.”

Dr Togadia further added, “Yassin Malik goes to Pakistan, sits with the wanted terrorist Hafiz Sayeed; thousands of separatists play havoc by stone pelting on the J&K streets. These young stone-pelters helped by Pakistan & the youth from POK claiming to have given up Jehad are given jobs in the J&K police dept & now today the J&K police stops nationalist like me from even entering Jammu. For long Hindus in & around Jammu have been facing injustice & discrimination in education, jobs, loans & safety. Many such families would have met me to give the details. Obviously Govts did not want their horrible plight to reach the rest of the nation. For vote bank politics, they have stopped Hindus from doing Darshan, from doing public programme for charity & also from exercising their fundamental right to travel & speak. Treating me like an infiltrator or a terrorist at Jammu airport, both the Union & the State Govt have hurt Hindu sentiments. Hindus will give apt answer democratically & peacefully to this anti-constitutional anti-Hindu politics through their votes in the state and nationally.”

THE MOUSE THAT ROARED!

ADIYEN

I can’t help suppress a chuckle over the recent brawl over the release of Vishwaroopam by the world’s greatest actor, Ulaganayagan Padma Shri Kamal Hassan. But I can’t find it in me to sympathize with anyone other than the distributors, exhibitors who have invested their capital that is now substantially locked up, pending the full release of the movie. And the technical crew who have worked behind the scenes, to helm this film – the clapper boy, light men, trolley operators, sound boom men, and technicians from the scores of other trades that must work efficiently, but unsung, unseen, to produce the finished product we are used to. While the threat of mob violence against free speech cannot be condemned enough, some of those of the press and the arts, this time Kamal and the intolerable apologist Rahul Bose, are finding out that rationalizing the intolerance of one side does not earn them a pass or even understanding. Kamal has turned out to be a naïve, gutless, misinformed appeaser who fancies himself as an idealist.

I am not a great fan of Kamalahasan or Kamal Hassan as he prefers to be known. He is a scene stealer, and hogs the production budget. Muktha V. Srinivasan was forced to reveal, in a rejoinder in “The Hindu” that Kamal gobbled up 40% of the budget of “Nayakan” after in the same paper, in a remarkable act of gracelessness, Kamal all but accused Srinivasan of lacking an aesthetic sense. Kamal has a limited histrionic range and trots out a stock routine of emotions. If you’ve seen the old man in Kadal Meengal in 1981, the aged Velu Nayagar in Nayagan wasn’t at all different. Apart from that is Kamal’s penchant for borrowed plots, and worse the unnecessary ever present borrowed scene – as the mish mash of “Butterflies are Free”, “Major Chandrakanth” and “The Graduate” that Raaja Paarvai became!

But for all his bluster Kamal, who’s acted as an old man, as a dwarf, as an autistic, lacks courage to follow through. His movies are still tame on the question of relationships and marriage. Except when others have made the movie in question, as with the Rudriah classic, “Aval Appadithan” or K.Vishwanath’s Swathi Muthyam. His Soora Samharam, a knockoff off of Peter Weir’s Witness, omitted the character of the Amish widow and her repressed sexuality entirely, substituting it with a light romantic encounter with a vivacious young woman! Years later when Kamal knocked off The Meg Ryan-Kevin Kline “French Kiss” he took care to excise any hint of extra-marital relationships out of the plot!

Kamal is good a few things though, and I say this in all seriousness without a hint of condescension. He is a great comedian, one of the few of all time with a talent for both varieties – screwball and slapstick. Comedy is very hard, much harder than tragedy, and comedians as a rule are very smart, of rapier wit. Needless to say, he is a great dancer and among the most courageous stuntmen of all time. These are not trivial accomplishments and the praise is richly deserved.

But politics, that’s another matter. The tearful letter on Kamal’s Facebook page is a parser’s delight! Kamal isn’t asserting his right to artistic expression. The letter refers to his sympathies for “that community” evidenced by his “statements”, a sort of affirmation of fealty. Harmony India, whom Kamal claims to have worked with, is an organization of questionable motivation whose members include among others, the “Nawab of Arcot” who led a mob that vandalized an exhibition on Aurangazeb at the Lalit Kala Akademi in Chennai in 2008. The Nawab also pals with disreputable Islamist Kazhagams and hasn’t uttered a squeak condemning their assault on the US Consulate in Chennai last year. If Kamal can still think for himself he must first take a long hard look at whom he is palling with. Extremists and bigots are given to constant denial and require absolute loyalty from their sympathizers. Kamal being a Hinduphobe in atheist clothes won’t do unless he stays clear of anything to do with jihad and Islamism, as he has just found out. And his pleas to “patriotic and neutral Muslims” whatever does that mean? Is the Tamizhaga Muslim Munnettra Kazhagam, neutral, patriotic or unpatriotic? And why ever does he talk of patriotism when his fellow actor the execrable Rahul Bose has acted in movies with tendentious plots such as “Shaurya” and “Mrs. And Mr. Iyer” which go out of their way to manufacture Hindu perfidy, and an excusable Muslim rage.

Kamal-Hassan-talk-with-MuslimKamal should understand that a movie about jihadism, while it enrages the Islamist will also be hurtful. Some will be hurt that their fellow religionists have waged terror upon the innocent, and will question themselves. Yet others like the father ofUmar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the notorious underwear bomber of Christmas Day 2009, have gone as far as to report their own to the law.
In India
even as we speak, this very moment there are very many men and women of every faith, in uniform, or plainclothes, working to keep their land safe. Others will feel hurt and try to deny, or justify the act of terror, and sometimes do both. A popular strand of 9/11 denialism alleges that the incident was the result of a Zionist conspiracy, and yet the self-same deniers celebrate the dark deeds of 9/11 and insist that it is god’s revenge upon the faithless!

When some refer to the many movies that have been critical of Hindu custom such as “Oru Veedu Oru Ulagam”/Prem Rog (the treatment of widows), the many movies that have criticized jati-vaad and discrimination, it is pointed out that these works are of a self-critical nature. But that would be missing the point. For decades now, especially since Independence, Hindu life has been criticized not only through the medium of art, but more extensively through academic enquiry. Very weighty charges have been levied against Hindus and their traditions. Kamal himself for all his parodying of TamBrahms (even inventing a bloody Saiva-Vaishnava rivalry in Dasavatharam) enjoys the friendship of his fellow TamBrahms of the stage. The likes of Mouli, Crazy Mohan and S.Ve. Shekar continue to fete him. So rather than talk to those on the vile or glamorous margins of India’s Muslim community, Kamal would do well to talk to the everyman Muslim of India, whose concerns are not at all different from his fellow Hindu. As Kamal’s distinguished fellow artiste and TamBrahm Cho Ramaswamy recently said in Chennai at the 43rd anniversary celebration of the Tuglak, for the police to sit tight rather than act against rabble like Owaisi in fear of offending Muslim sentiment, would be an insult to Muslims and Islam.

The secularist terrorism and its Muslim appeasement

SUJATA PATIL, A POLICE INSPECTOR AT MATUNGA, MUMBAI TO BE SUSPENDED AND PUT IN JAIL?

Secularist (sickularist!) and anti-national forces in India in collaboration with anti-Hindu Congress government are ganging up and conspiring to put Sujata Patil in jail for writing a poem in an internal Police magazine. In that poem Sujata Patil had described the hoodlums who had vandalized the war memorial at Mumbai, as “Traitors” and “Snakes”.

The aim of this insidious activity is to demoralize, frighten and terrorize Hindus.

“SUDARSHAN TV” in India has started a campaign in support of Sujata Patil. Please have a look at the videos and subscribe to Sudarshan TV:

Mumbai cop’s poem touches a raw nerve
14 January 2013 , By PTI

A woman traffic inspector was at the centre of a controversy on Monday over her poem in a Mumbai police in-house journal in which she called last year’s Azad Maidan protesters “snakes” and “traitors” and suggested that their hands should have been “chopped off.”

A complaint was filed with the State’s Home Department, the Mumbai Police Commissioner’s office and the Azad Maidan police station by Ameen Mustafa Idrisi, who runs an NGO, Muslim-e-Hind, and Nazar Mohammed Siddique, one of the accused arrested in the Azad Maidan violence case who is currently out on bail. The violence occurred during a rally in the maidan in protest against attacks on Muslims.

The complainants sought registration of an FIR against Commissioner Satyapal Singh, Joint Police Commissioner (Administration) Hemant Nagarale, inspector Sujata Patil who penned the verse, the publisher and other unknown “conspirators” in connection with the publication of the poem in Samvad.

Ms. Patil has tendered an apology in writing, saying she did not intend to hurt anybody’s religious sentiments or any religion after the poem titled “Azad Maidan” left the Mumbai police embarrassed.

“Sujata Patil has already apologised in writing. She has said she did not intend to hurt anybody’s religious sentiments or any religion. The written unconditional apology will be published in the next edition of Samwad,” Mr. Nagarale said.

Ms. Patil is a traffic police inspector posted at Matunga.

Hausla buland tha, izzat lut rahi thi…himmat ki gaddaron ne Amar Jyoti ko haath lagane ki, kaat dete haath unke toh faryad kisi ki bhi na hoti…Saanp ko doodh pila kar, baat kare hain hum bhai-chare ki,” read the poem. (Their morale was high, [women] were being dishonoured. The traitors had the audacity to touch Amar Jawan Jyoti. Had we cut off their hands nobody would have complained. We feed milk to the snakes and then talk of harmony.)

The complainants have demanded that the guilty to be booked under Sections 295(A) (Maliciously insulting religion), 298 (uttering or putting such words which insults religion), 504 (insult to provoke breach of peace), 505 (false statement), 120(B)(criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC.

Swami Kamalananda Bharati was arrested for criticizing Owaisi. This farce of secularism must end

Swami Kamalananda Bharati: Hate speech or sage advice?

Kamalananda Bharati Swamiji, a founder of Hindu Devalaya Parirakshana Samiti, has for the past few years been one of those at the forefront of the public movement against the Andhra Pradesh Hindu Religious Endowment Department’s total mismanagement and corrupt administration of Hindu temples, including the renowned Tirupati Balaji Devasthanam by the State Government. To create awareness on the state of our mandirs, he has undertaken three padayatras, totaling a distance of over 10,000 kms, in Andhra Pradesh, visiting each district and each village during these yatras.

On 27 Feb. 2009, the author wrote an article on Kamal Kumar Swamiji, who has since become Kamalananda Bharati Swamiji after obtaining deeksha to become a Sanyasi.

http://dharmabhoomi.blogspot.in/search?q=bhakti+maha

Swamiji is also at the forefront of anti-conversion work in Andhra Pradesh. Knowing him personally, the author can vouch for the fact that he harbors no ill towards practitioners of other religions. But he is most passionate when espousing Hindu causes.

When Akbaruddin Owaisi made the hate speech at Nirmal, the entire Hindu samaj was hurt at his onslaught on Go Mata, Kausalya Mata and Bhagawan Sri Rama.

Speech as posted on youtube: (this one is made at Nirmal, other links are available)

The majority of our acharyas, sants, matadhipathis, mandaleshwars and aadeenakartas did not come out publicly to condemn Owaisi’s speech and deem it fit to assuage the hurt feelings of the Hindus. Kamalananda Bharati Swamiji took it upon himself to do the same. And he was at his oratorical best. Suddenly, he was arrested and booked under hate speech by the Hyderabad Police; a typical secular balancing act by an inept administration.

As Swamiji spoke in Telugu (

), the writer has made a rough translation of the speech as seen and heard in Telugu on the youtube. The reader / viewer can readily judge personally whether it is a hate speech or an appropriate reply to Owaisi).

Swami Kamalananda Bharati at Indira Park, Hyderabad:

If such patient Hindus lose their patience, please think where you will be. We have to admire the patience of the police first. We have been noticing this since yesterday. He (Owaisi) asked only for 15 minutes of police-free time. Yesterday policemen came from Nirmal and were seen literally begging him, “Akbaruddin ji, you have mistaken us. It is not just for 15 minutes that we have been away, we have been away for 15 years for now. Have we ever bothered you? Have we spoken a word against you? Have we questioned your word? You can speak what you want. You can commit any number of murders. You can bring in the ISI men. Detonate any number of bombs. Kill Hindus. Do whatever you want, we will never come in your way”.

Had these not been told to you (Owaisi) by the Nirmal authorities, under the instruction of the State Government, what do you think you would have achieved after returning home? For a man who can threaten to murder 100 crore people if given 15 minutes, has the fever come because there is a plane ready to take you away (to London), or were you afraid of being at home?

In the last 1400 years, the only civilization in the world that withstood the onslaught of your (Islamic) sword is Hindu civilization. Even if we buy one horse, for Hindus a horse each is sufficient. Each one of those assembled here if they were to get one horse each, our Bhavani Mata in Srisailam is ready to give each one a sword. There has been no objection from Delhi to your speech, but if each one of us have a sword in our hand can anyone have the courage to stand up to us; do your 136 nations have the wherewithal to stand up to them?

Have you forgotten January 26, 1991? What happened on 26 Jan, 1991? (reference not clear; seems related to events in J&K – ed). Have not those who never sang Vande Mataram, sing it on that day? Haven’t those that never held the tricolor in hand, held it high? Haven’t those who had never sung the Jana Gana Mana, sing it? Haven’t those that refused to call this Bharatamata their matrubhumi, say it? It is our bounden duty to make each of you say Bharat Mata ki Jai. We will do everything to make this possible. We are not afraid of your theories, your ways, your bullets, your AK47s, your bombs, your RDX, your mines, your Pakistan and your Bangaladesh. You can continue with your efforts.

However, Pakistan is a good nation. Given an opportunity, they will merge with our country, or they will perish where they are. They will keep moving towards Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq. If those police are given one opportunity, they will smash all this in 24 hours. We fought wars with Pakistan. Our generals asked Indira Gandhi to give them just one hour’s time. Had that one hour’s time been granted, Karachi and Islamabad would have ceased to exist. Even Hyderabad would have ceased to exist, not this Hyderabad; but the one there (in Pakistan). First, that Hyderabad would have ceased to exist and that would have been the Bhagya of this Hyderabad. Today, with Indira Park as our witness we proclaim that this is not Hyderabad, this is Bhagyalakshminagar. From tomorrow, wherever you see Hyderabad written, paint it with tar and re-write it to read Bhagyalakshminagar.

We are the ones who always think how this country should be. We create the nation that we have. We recognize the nation that we want. We contribute to the progress of this nation. We are born for this nation. If you come along with us, we will take you with us. If you do not want, we will leave you aside untouched. If you fight us, we will remove you.

We listened to his (Owaisi) speech of one hour fifty minutes. We are able to see its impact in a small way here. There are more people on the way coming here. However, Hindu bandhus in 26,000 villages in Andhra Pradesh are vastly agitated. I call upon the State Government to think what would happen if we were to give a call. The Chief Minister of this State does not understand a thing. If you (CM) are such an incompetent person, you may as well go to Piler (his native place) and live happily. Without happily sleeping in your farm, why you are here to create headaches for us, not taking care of the peace in this region.

Do you think Akbaruddin Owaisi addressed his words only to us (Hindus)? No, he told something very interesting in his speech. He said that they (Hindus) beat us at Alola, at Karnool, at Nandyal, at Nizamabad, at Hyderabad – he said that they are beating our Muslims everywhere. You are getting beaten without the police being away for 15 minutes; if the police were to be away for 15 minutes, what would happen?

After listening to your (Owaisi) lectures and talks, the Muslim youth in their frenzy have lost their homes today, lost their prestige, their livelihood and are left in a shambles, rotting in jails, making rounds of various courts. Is this the boon that you have granted to the Muslim Samaj? Is this what you and your brother (Hyderabad MP) do as public service? And in all the talks that you gave, whether it is in Kurnool or Anantapur or Nizamabad or Karimnagar or Nirmal or Nanded, you have never spoken anything beneficial to the public. You have never spoken any Muslim issues. You have not spoken about their unemployment problems, health issues, poverty, economic status, nor have you spoken a word on their development. What you spoke about was ‘how do we get kicked and how do we kick’? What will they do and what we will do. Apart from this, if things go bad, how do I (Owiasi) get away!

His talk is centered on how to encourage division of this society and conspire to cause divisions in this society. MIM Party is only a mask; in Pakistan what they call as ISI, here in Hyderabad is called MIM. Today, politicians may not have the guts to talk the truth; they may act secular. Do you think that they do not talk because they want to protect their votebanks? No, they are afraid of the consequences of talking against them.

Whoever does not stand up for Dharma, for Jaati, for country, may belong to any political party, whoever be such a politician, Hindu samaj should come together to make him stand on the street and wash his sins.

What happened in Nalgonda a month ago? Today, in order to arrest a traitor there is so much hesitation, drama. A month ago, an Anjaneya Swami (Hanuman) bhakta who was wearing a mala and was in deeksha was beaten up. When Anjaneya bhaktas came forward to talk about it, the Superintendent of Police personally led the lathi-charge on the poor bhaktas. When questioned how come Hindus were discriminated in the incident, he went on to get forces from different places, rushed into numerous Hindu households, dragged their women, children and even goats, and beat them black and blue. Will you beat the law abiding Hindus like that? Will you beat up the Hindus who are born to defend and ready to die for this nation? Will you beat those Hindus who consider this their matrubhoomi? Will you beat the Hindus who have a right to this nation? What is it that you had decided to teach this society with your action? Are you testing the patience of the Hindus? We will do nothing but Karseva. We will do nothing but Karseva.

In 1987, the Rama Janaki Raths came. We went to various villages. In no village there was a crowd more than 20-30 people to greet us. Then 1989 came. Even without our knowledge, thousands of Ram silas went to Ayodhya from these villages. The reason – no one has spoken this – was not Advaniji’s Rath Yatra. I am now reminding it to you, if you want you may check it with the records, from 1985 to 1989, in the entire nation, Ganesh Utsav processions were pelted with stones from various masjids. The entire country witnessed bomb blasts, in UP, Maharashtra, and Delhi; Hindus were shot dead by ISI terrorists. At different places, bomb blasts occurred on trains. The Hindu Samaj was vexed with these happenings. Leaving aside their party affiliations, with a view to protect our Dharma, the Samaj came out in 1989-90 and that was why Sri Rama silas left 600,000 villages on the way to Ayodhya.

Even today we wish to tell you all, where Kausalya Mata has been abused; you (Owaisi) asked where did Kausalya go to give birth to Sri Rama? Who knows under what mahurat your father gave birth to such disloyal (to the nation) sons. In Nirmal where Kausalya Mata was abused, very soon – it is not in Haryana – but in Nirmal that we will construct a mandir for Kausalya Mata. And that mandir will be constructed only by women. From each State and from each district, Kausalya Matas will make their journey there. Don’t drag the Kausalya Matas out. If things change, the women in Andhra Pradesh will separate the flags from the sticks, preserve the flags at home and come out with sticks. From tomorrow the Kausalya Sakti will arise. If this Kausalya Sakti is aroused, what happened in Jammu and in Srinagar will repeat itself. For 90 days the women came out on the streets.

Jammu and Kashmir is not our Government. It is a Muslim Government out there. There are many problems there. Thousands of Kashmiri Pandits have been driven out from there. Hindus are being tortured in many ways. Hindus are being killed in many ways. In such a place, a place like J&K, where Hindus are in minority, for 90 days when the Hindu Mahila Sakti came to streets, the military was there, various forces were present, J&K Police was very much there, there was more than fifteen minutes, when for 90 days the women were on streets, we caught the J&K Government by its hair and dragged (it) and took the Amarnath (yatra).

From tomorrow, this is what is going to happen in Andhra Pradesh also. In the entire State, women power will arise. Where the Mahila Sakti, the Kausalya Mata was abused, a befitting reply will be given. Today our demand is very simple. Those who committed treachery, those who attempted to divide this society should be punished as traitors. MIM Party should be banned.  We have come here to make these demands and until these are accepted and met with we will never withdraw our agitation and keep moving forward. Jai Sriram.

End of Speech

A lawyer friend from Andhra Pradesh shared with the writer a news reported in local channels and newspapers, that even a Judge in Andhra Pradesh commented during Owaisi’s bail hearing to the effect, “You want just fifteen minutes time Mr Owaisi. I have the power to keep the police off for one hour. If I do it, at the end of it, you will come to realize who has lost more.”

Chennai police commissioner shunted out

http://www.hindustantimes.com/India-news/Chennai/Chennai-police-commissioner-shunted-out/Article1-932056.aspx

Chennai, September 18, 2012

n a major shake-up of ADGP level officers in the state police force, Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday shunted out Chennai police commissioner JK Tripathy, replacing him with S George, ADGP (Law and Order).

Tripathy’s posting as IG Prisons came in the wake of continuing protests against the US consulate in Chennai by Muslim groups opposed to a controversial American movie allegedly denigrating Islam.

The Consulate had faced attacks on Friday with protestors pelting stones.

TK Rajendiran has been posted as ADGP (law and order), principal home secretary R Rajagopal said in a press release.

Tripathy will replace SK Dogra, who has been posted as Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.

Tripathy was posted as Commissioner of Chennai after the AIADMK government stormed to power in 2011 after the April Assembly elections.
